PRODUCT INFORMATION

CURTAINS

All our made-to-measure Curtains are double fullness, meaning if your required window measurements are 200cm the width of the curtain fabric would be 400cm (except double pinch pleat which is 1 and 3/4). This is to ensure the Curtains are rich and full bodied.

Our range of headings include Double and Triple Pinch Pleats which give a tailored finish and even pleats.  Eyelets that ensure large even pleats. Wave that hangs like Eyelets but uses a special track to ensure the wave is even when the Curtains are drawn. Finally, Pencil Pleat for a more traditional look.  All our Curtains come with a lining as standard though we offer Thermal linings for extra insulation and Blackout linings for extra light control and fullness.

The bottom of the curtains have weights stitched in to the hem ensure your Curtains hang correctly. The hems are also ‘blind stitched’ which means that a minimal amount of stitching in shown on the front of the Curtains.

All our Curtains are steamed and dressed following installation to ensure that the fabric falls correctly and to assist in training the fabric to hang evenly.

We offer a fantastic range of metal and wood poles that come in one or two pieces, this creates one continuous pole which performs better than a telescopic pole. We also provide a range of metal tracks that are perfect for bay windows.  All our tracks and poles are cut to size and lubricated during installation to ensure they operate and fit your window perfectly.  We can also provide matching cushion covers and tie backs.

The controls can be set to the left and right and can either be a cord and chain or a wand.  The cord opens and closes the blinds whilst the chain tilts the louvres. The wand is inherently child safe and is used to open and close the blinds and then twisted to tilt the louvres.

WOODEN

Our Wood and Faux Venetians are available in a variety of colours, from neutral shades to contemporary greys and stunning stained colours.

A Wood Venetian blind is constructed using wooden slats which can be raised or lowered using the cord lock controls and a second cord to tilt the slats. The headrail, bottom rail, cords and wood pulls are all colour coordinated to match the colour of the slats. A matching wood valance is attached to the headrail to hide the headrail, brackets and control mechanisms.  The wood used in our blinds is sourced from sustainable forests.

Our Faux Wood blind is made and operates in the same way but the slats and valance are made from PVC.

The blind can be raised and lowered and kept in place using the cord lock system. When the blind is raised there will be a stack and the size of stack is determined by the drop of the blind. The tilt cords are used to open and close the slats, both controls allow you to manage light and privacy perfectly.

Wood Venetians (and Faux) are a timeless window dressing. They can be made with fabric tapes instead of a cord giving them a more contemporary look.  The tape can be a colour coordinated with the blind or a contrasting colour, we also have tapes with patterned designs which allows you to personalise them to your own style.

Our Faux Venetians work exceptionally well in bathrooms and kitchens too as the PVC won’t absorb any water or warp in damp conditions.

As a window dressing they also look fantastic when layered with Curtains or Romans if fitted on the outside of the recess. They’re also a cost effective option to shutters and provide a very similar look when a fabric tape is used instead of a cord.

VENETIAN

A Venetian blind provides you with an easy to use window dressing, which is versatile, lightweight and wipeable. They’re available with a wide range of colours, finishes and slat widths to ensure you can find an option that compliments your room and gives you the look that you want.

The blind is made of aluminium slats which wont rust or warp in damp or humid conditions, also because they’re lightweight it means they can be made to fit larger windows.

They can be raised or lowered and the cord lock means you can have the blind partially open where you like.  You can also tilt the slats to your preferred angle whilst the blind is fully lowered or anywhere in between, this means you have control over the amount of light coming into the room and how much privacy you want.

We also offer Aluminium Venetian blinds in a PerfectFit frame. These can be ideal for french windows or when fitting into the top of the recess isn’t possible. They’re also installed without any kind of drilling and can be removed easily if required.

They can also be configured to suit your needs with the tilt, raise and lower function on the left or right combined or split.

As aluminium slats are very thin its means the stack size when the blind is raised is considerably smaller than Wooden or Faux Wood Venetian blind types. This can be reduced even more by choosing the wider slat options due to the number of slats required.

PERFECTFIT

PerfectFit is an innovative system which are perfect for french doors or if you want the blind fitting directly into the window. Once the blind is installed the window or door can be opened without the blind flapping or the need to raise the blind. In addition all PerfectFit blinds are inherently child safe as there aren’t any exposed cords or chains.

The blind fits perfectly into the frame which is then attached to the window. This is attached using ‘L’ shaped brackets which are inserted between the glazing and seal, the frame is then clipped to the brackets. No drilling is required and the blinds are easy to remove.

They’re perfect if you have french doors which open inwards which often means there isn’t space above the window recess for any other type of blind. Even if the doors open outwards they can still be a great choice as you wont need to worry about raising the blinds to open the doors. Plus unlike a Vertical blind, when the blind is open there is no large bunch to obstruct your view.

Rollers in a PerfectFit frame are operated using a thumb tab to raise and lower the blind and the blind can be locked into position at whichever height you would like. Unlike a standard roller a perfect roller can be made so the fabric raises from the bottom of the blind too, which still allows natural light to filter through the top of the window whilst giving you privacy.

Pleated blinds in a PerfectFit can be configured in the same way as a normal pleated blind, with a thumb tab to raise and lower the blind. They are also available with two fabrics and bottom up, please see the pleated section for more details.

Aluminium Venetians also operate on a thumb tab control to raise and lower the blind and a wand to tilt the slats. The PerfectFit frames are available in different colours to best match your window frame or your choice of fabric.

  • Available in Roller, Pleated, Venetian styles.

  • Huge range of fabric colours and textures.

  • Child safe – no loose cords or loops

  • Leaves window sills clutter free

Things to consider

  • Our Roller blinds, Venetian blinds and Pleated blinds can all be fitted with a PerfectFit frame

  • Don’t have uPVC frames? Ask about having standard blinds fitted with hold down brackets to keep them against the glass.

PLEATED

Pleated blinds are a modern choice for homes and are becoming a popular alternative to traditional options like Roller and Roman blinds.  They’re made using lightweight fabric with concertina like folds and are available in a wide range of colours and patterns to compliment your decor and style. The majority of fabrics also have a coating on the reverse which is designed to reflect solar energy, this is designed to keep a room cooler on warmer days whilst still allowing light to filter through, it also means that pleated blinds are a great option for conservatories or if its necessary to keep a room cool.

Due to the blinds construction the fabric is the true width of the blind, unlike a Roller for example. This also means that the blackout fabrics are a good choice for the bedroom as light leakage is kept to a minimum.  They also have a slim profile which makes them ideal for fitting in the recess of the frame for bi-fold doors and they have a small stack when the blind is fully raised, meaning the amount of window you loose when the blind is raised is kept to a minimum.

They’re available in different fabric types dependant on your needs, fabric with a blackout backing. Thermal fabrics which come in two layers of fabric which make a honeycomb shape and thermal blackout which is the thermal fabric but with a blackout lining as well. This is the best option for bedrooms as the cords of the fabric run between the two layers of fabrics.

They can be made with a standard cord control with a locking mechanism to raise and lower or a tab control.  The tab control has cords which are fixed in place at the lowest point of the blind which makes this ideal for fitting inside the recess of a bi-fold door or onto french doors as they wont flap around when the doors are opened or closed.

Pleated blinds can be configured with two different types of fabric in the same blind, for example you could opt for a blackout fabric at the top of the blind and a standard fabric at the bottom of the blind, they are joined in the middle with a centre bar. This would allow you to use the blackout fabric at night but then during the day close that part of the blind and use the standard fabric so you have privacy whilst still allowing light to filter into the room or just half and half.  You might go for two standard fabrics but different colours or shades to compliment your decor but giving you the freedom to choose which you want to suit your mood or to filter the light through different colours to change the ambience of a room.

The blind can also be made to operate from the bottom up, which means this configuration the blind can be raised from the bottom rather than the top. This can be ideal if you want to allow natural light to come in from the top of the window but filter the light or have privacy at the bottom of the window.

We also offer Pleated blinds in a PerfectFit frame, these can be ideal for french doors or when fitting into the top of the recess isn’t possible. They’re also installed without any kind of drilling and can be removed easily if required.

Pleated blinds have one continuous layer of fabric with no individual slats. The blind raises up into a tidy stack at the top of your window frame. When a Pleated blind is closed you can see the pleated lines. Your choice of fabric will provide you will some light intake or full blackout when closed. You can choose to have the blinds open or closed partially also.

DAY AND NIGHT

A Day and Night blind is a contemporary blind, it performs like a combination of Roller and Venetian blind with two panels of fabric which can be raised and lowered, but unlike a Roller the two panels of sheer and opaque fabric can be in an open or closed position for total light control and privacy.  These blinds are also sometimes called Vision, Twist or Duo blinds but are all the same product.

Day and Night blinds come in different types and textures of natural tones and various colours to compliment your colour scheme and style.

The are constructed using one long layer of fabric which is fixed in place inside the semi cassette at the top of the blind and then around the barrel in the same way as Roller, however the difference is that a bottom rail is used that the fabric runs through and is used to create two panels or layers of fabric.  The fabric is horizontal stripes of sheer and opaque fabrics, this allows you to set the blind in an open or closed position.

In an open position the opaque and sheer panels are parallel to each other and looks like a Venetian with wide slats in the open position, this allows the maximum of light through the blind but still gives you privacy during the day. In the closed position the opaque panels alternate on each panel of fabric and looks more like a sold Roller, this reduces the amount of light coming into the room and also gives the most privacy during the day and at night, when the blinds are fully lowered they will sit in the closed position.

Normally fitted on the inside of the recess the blind is housed in a semi cassette which further enhances the overall look of the blind. The semi cassette has a fabric valance across the front to complete the look.  The semi cassette is available in various colours to compliment its surroundings or the fabric of the blind. The blind can be personalised further by selecting a different colour chain. The blind is easy to operate using a sidewinder chain mechanism which can manufactured to the left or right or it can be motorised with a rechargeable battery motor which is housed inside the barrel and is operated via the remote control.

  • Day & Night blinds are made from one piece of fabric that hangs in two layers, they don’t have individual louvres/slats

  • Our Day & Night blinds will be fitted with the necessary child safety device as standard, unless they are motorised

INTU

Intu blinds are a fantastic choice for your Bi-fold or French doors if you want a slim line pleated blind that fits to your door without the need for drilling or using a PerfectFit frame.

They are a seamless design to blend in with your window frame as well as freeing up space around window sills which other options such as Verticals don’t always allow. Tilt and turn windows can often be a difficult window to buy for and Intu blinds are a perfect option due to the way in which they are fit.

In addition to the standard slimline pleated fabrics, Intu blinds are also available with Hive fabrics.  Hive options are pleated fabrics with two layers which create a honeycomb effect. These are excellent at providing additional thermal protection, to help keep a room warmer or cooler.
